Why English and Russian languages studies?

English and Russian languages – two languages of global significance!
The programme is oriented to the preparation of broad-minded linguists - practitioners who have mastered two languages, English and Russian. At the same time, this study programme ensures that the undergraduate student will gain a good grasp of the theoretical and linguistic fundamentals through a varied programme of various compulsory and elective modules (introduction to linguistics, introduction to Germanic linguistics, theoretical cornerstones of modern English and Russian - phonetics, morphology, syntax, stylistics as well as linguistic pragmatics, linguistic semantics, introduction to psycholinguistics), and the principles of translation (translation theory, translation practicum, translation practice).

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS AND SELECTION CRITERIA

·        Matura (school leaving) certificate;

·        Following the Common Framework of Reference for Language approved by the Council of Europe: English language proficiency - the level not lower than B2 and Russian language proficiency – the level not lower than A2.

INTERNATIONAL MOBILITY

Students can participate in ERASMUS+ mobility programme which gives an opportunity to study at Partner University for 1 or 2 semesters or do internship abroad.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

The international labour market needs highly qualified linguists with a good command of two languages of global significance (English – level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages and Russian – level B2) who are able to apply their skills in various areas of academic and professional activities which require multilingual graduates - translation, editing, publishing, international business and tourism, etc.
