Why Business Informatics study programme?
The most important goal of the study programme is to prepare qualified specialists of information systems who fill a market gap which emerges in between classical programmers and information system designers, analysts and creators. The programme is distinct in its interdisciplinary nature: combination of information technologies and economic, management competences and abilities. IT skills are formed through a consistent combination of scientific research work and theoretical studies which is oriented towards dealing with business and financial solutions by applying IT tools. Business and management competences are formed through theoretical studies as well as empirical solutions oriented towards business needs.
Assoc. Prof. Vytautas Rudžionis, Director of the programme, pointed out the strengths of the Programme:
Business and informatics form a bonding which provides a unique combination of informatics and business which is very important for Lithuania. The groups in the programme are small, so students receive individual attention, moreover all students complete the class surveys in order to make their views known. The staff do engage in the production of scientific publications and there is a ‘best lecturer’ award (this as well as financial rewards encourage good teaching)
Last but not least – our social partners as well as graduates are very satisfied with the study programme.
