Overview
In the contemporary world global political processes are directly controlled by diplomacy. Diplomacy is also fundamental social practices enabling mediate, communicate and represent interests of institutions and states while being able to orientate and control conflict situations. Diplomat is a professional who has wide interdisciplinary perception, deep analytical thinking, is creative and capable communicate efficiently and politely.
This knowledge can be applied not only in diplomatic and civil service, working for international organizations, but also private sector, which needs employees with leadership and moderation skills.
The aim of the programme is to prepare professional diplomats who are analytical, critical and creative; have all necessary skills for formation and implementation of foreign policy (strategic planning, implementation of programmes and projects, communication, negotiation, preparation of texts, public presentations, critically assessments of global events, and adaptation to changing environment).
Competencies acquired
Graduates of the programme will:
Have knowledge in processes and tendencies of international politics, law, and economy
Have knowledge in the core principles of diplomacy organization.
Be able to apply theories of public communication, negotiation, organizational communicational psychology when implementing diplomatic functions.
Be able to plan and implement scientific and applied researches of diplomacy, international institutions, and core social practices.
Be able systemically analyse constantly changing international environment in order to adapt different models of diplomatic practices in organization, society, state and international community.
Be able to plan political strategy, prepare and implement programmes and projects in public sector.
Be able to efficiently communicate at different governance levels, in different cultural groups and teams in the internal and external environments of organizations, while implementing diplomatic functions
Be able to introduce skills obtained during studies and individual learning experience in the constantly changing context of social practices and cultural environments. Obtain interdisciplinary perception and individual learning capabilities, apply analytical skills and obtain professional thinking culture.
Career opportunities
Graduates can move on to carriers in diplomatic and civil service, government, international governmental and non-governmental organizations, business, and more. Graduates will also be able to work as analysts, political advisors, or project managers.
